Saturated Canary Part Two...

Back to the Saturated Canary digis today. The beautiful backing papers are from a paper pad I got agees ago. It was from Do Crafts and was part of the me to you Spring range last year. All of the colours are muted and in blues/pinks and pale greens. I'm having to use it slowly because I don't think they make it anymore : (
The die I used was from Marianne and is a large flourish, on this card it looked too big (its only 6 x 6 ) so I cut it in half and used one piece each side of the crochet flower.
I also tried Distress Inks again... I'm nearly getting the hang of it, but I do still keep getting some darker than I wanted areas so I will have to keep practising : )

Saturated Canary

This week I have been playing with Saturated Canary images, I just love their stamps, and can't wait until they come out in rubber!
Instead of using my Copics/Pro Markers I have used pencil crayons for this image to give it more of a muted look. I also added some bling!
The bling was from some bargain earrings from Primark I can't wait to use the rest theres some flowers and bows in neutral colours :)

Gorjuss Girls

I treated myself to some of the new Gorjuss Girls stamps this week, I bought 4! I really will have to cover my eyes next time I see them so I don't buy the other 4.
All of the stamps are quite a substantial size and come with additional elements such as frames or extra little characters - The girl on the swing also has an extra cat.
I just love anything with the Gorjuss girls on so they may feature quite a lot on my cards in the next few weeks.

I am entering this card into the totally gorjuss challenge http://totallygorjuss.blogspot.co.uk/ where the theme this week is anything goes with pink.

I also bought the Gorjuss papers with the stamps and that is what I have used in the background for this card. Also I took these photos late last night and her skin seems to look a strange colour in these pics. In real life she is much paler lol.

Not so.... Shabby Chic

Ive been reading on the internet (for hours!) about people that have turned unloved furniture into something beautiful. So I thought I would give it a try.
I went to a local Charity Shop and bought a small table, as I only wanted a small project so I wasn't overwhelmed!

Here is a before picture:
As you can see its a bit scabby and unloved, but I just loved the shape and its perfect as a little drinks table.

Here is the after picture:
I sanded the table (outside in the freezing cold!!) and then painted it with three coats of acrylic paint. The pictures on the top are from comic books and are stuck on using mod podge. Its nearly finished I just need to decide what sort of varnish to use on the top to make sure it doesnt get spoiled :)
